Fail fast. Fail cheap.

Test. Test. Test

Pick a test, any test! Usability and design testing… Quantitative methods… UX measurement and benchmarking…

So often, the testing phase is the first line item to get struck from the budget in any project planning session. It takes time. Not everyone understands the process or the value. Maybe business owners have been given poor insights from testing in the past.

Whatever the reason, it’s important that designers cling to this part of the process as it is necessary, if not vital, to creating healthy, user-centered designs.

I learned how to conduct moderated and unmoderated studies on UserZoom’s testing tools, but there are many to choose from that range from free to enterprise prices. The bottom line is that any method of gathering feedback from your users is worth your time to pursue.
